When dealing with cartridges, no matter the organization (Hospitals, IT/ITES, Hotels, Pharma Co, Shipping and Cargo), you want to be sure that you are making the right decision for the organization you are with. There are many cartridges out there to choose from, from remanufactured catridges, refilled cartridges to Original cartridges, that is why it can be very hard to make a decision on which ones to stick with.

The Originals: Toner and Ink Cartridges

When it comes to original cartridges, they are usually created by the company who had originally been the creators of the type of equipment that you bought. These types of cartridges are most of the time found to be made using a variation of parts that are new and recycled at factories from all over the world. Original cartridges have a tendency to be more on the pricey side, and have a 70% market share, this market share is actually shrinking very fast. The biggest problem with these types of cartridges is that the companies that produce them make it illegal for other companies to produce the same ones brand new.

Refilled Cartridges

Refilled cartridges are only different because the powder was changed, none of the components in these cartridges are any different. These types of cartridges are actually commonly known for going through different types of mid cycle failures. These types of cartridges are usually priced at lower prices than the remanufactured cartridges, because of how easy they are to manufacture. There is usually no warranty that is given out with the cartridges or printers to do with refilled cartridges. Meaning that these are going to pretty much always have a 10% market share, because of the prices that they are known for coming with.

Remanufactured Cartridges

These types of cartridges are cartridges that have gone through the process of being taken apart, having all of the parts put through inspection & separated and cleaned. During this process, around 80 to 100% of the parts are required to be changed. These are the types of cartridges that you should want to get into, these ones are known for their amazing quality and prices. These cartridges have a share of 20% and are currently beating out the share of the OEMS. So far, when it comes to remanufactured catridges, refilled cartridges and original cartridges, the general consensus is to go with the cartridges that are remanufactured.
